Two tips for people who are thinking about buying a steel fence for their commercial premises

If you have been considering putting a steel fence around your commercial premises, you might find that these two tips help you with the process of buying this structure.

Get one custom-made by a fence contractor that makes fences using steel fabrication equipment

There are plenty of ready-made steel fences available. These are a good option for anyone who is in a rush to secure their property, as they can be purchased and erected by a fence contractor in just a day or so. However, if you can afford to wait a little while to have this structure added to your premises, it might be better to have one custom made by a fence contractor that specialises in the creation of steel fences.

There are a few reasons for this. Firstly, steel fence materials are surprisingly versatile and can be bent, curled and altered in many other ways, using steel fabrication machinery. As such, if you have a fence of this kind made specifically for your premises, you can have the contractor customise the steel fence posts and panels to suit your preferences (in regards to, for example, security and aesthetics).

You could, for example, request a fence that features a combination of decorative panels in sections that will be erected around the areas that are visible to your clients, along with taller, plainer and more imposing fence panels for the parts of your premises that are less visible but which are more vulnerable to attacks by vandals or other criminals. In short, you can get a fence that suits the exact needs of your property, rather than one that almost meets some of its needs.

Utilise the versatility of steel to discourage climbers

If, like most owners of commercial properties, you want a fence that will keep intruders at bay, then a steel fence is an excellent choice, as the aforementioned versatility of this material means that your contractor can add in design features that make your fence very hard to climb over.

For example, if the fence will feature horizontal bars placed perpendicularly to the vertical panels, the contractor can create and fit spikes on top of these bars, to prevent would-be intruders from resting their feet on them whilst attempting to pull themselves up and over the fence. They can also make the vertical steel fence panels flat and sharpen their edges, to ensure that intruders cannot hold onto them for very long, without injuring their hands. This, too, could discourage them from attempting to ascend this structure.

About Me

Building a basement

We have a small house on a small block and we can't extend the house up due to council restrictions. We really need some more storage room though, which is why we have been building a basement extension. It's quite a big project to build a large basement under an existing house and we definitely didn't realise how much work it was going to be before we got started! Now it's finished I'm glad we did it because it has given us a lot more space. This blog shows our project fom start to finish and should be useful for anyone attempting the project.
